Properties
- Corrosion resistance
- Formability
Austenitic stainless steels are the most popular grades of stainless produced due to their excellent corrosion resistance and formability making tight bends possible. They are alloys structured around a composition of Iron, with 16% – 26% Chromium, and 2% – 20% Nickel. Variants contain additions of Carbon and/or Molybdenum and/or Titanium and/or Sulphur to alter the structure and properties. Austenitic steels are non-hardenable by heat treating, but they can be cold worked to improve hardness, strength, and stress resistance. They are essentially non-magnetic. The most familiar austenitic stainless steels are Type 303/304/316.
Applications
Austenitic stainless steel bar is used for automotive trim, cookware, food and beverage equipment, storage tanks, pressure vessels, piping, processing equipment, building and construction and a variety of other industrial applications.
- Random length stock bar in lengths of 3mtr to 10mtr randoms dependent on size/grade
