300 Series Stainless Steel

Austenitics are the most popular stainless grades due to their excellent corrosion resistance and formability making tight bends possible. These alloys are structured around a composition of Iron, with 16% – 26% Chromium, and 2% – 20% Nickel. Variants contain additions of Carbon, Molybdenum, Titanium and Sulphur to alter the structure and properties.

300 Series Stainless Steel Properties

Austenitic steels are non-hardenable by heat treating, but they can be cold worked to improve hardness, strength, and stress resistance.  They are essentially non-magnetic.
