Precipitation Hardened, FV520B

Double Over-Aged

The double over-aged condition of FV520B undergoes an additional process during its heat treatment at a lower temperature of 550°C.

This additional process is used to achieve the mechanical properties of the steel specification requirements (by exposing them to heat). For example, FV520B has high impact resistance in this Double Over-Aged (550°C) condition.

The mechanical properties of this condition are typically the following:
UTS: 925/1080 MPa
YS: 800 MPa min.
Hardness: 276-321 HB
