The primary hardened condition of FV520B is aged at 750-850°C.
This condition is supplied to an analysis and hardness only, typically 294-331 HB max.

This interim grade can be secondary hardened or aged to certain other conditions of FV520B, generally only Peak Hardened.

  • Improved intergranular & pitting corrosion compared to 17/4PH
  • Improved corrosion resistance in specific environments
  • Excellent anti-galling characteristics
  • Low machinability but good weldability
  • High impact resistance in the 550℃ ‘aged’ condition
  • Commonly employed in aerospace, oil & gas, and other industries where high-performance materials are needed.
  • Gears, bolts, rotor blades
  • Centrifugal compressors
  • Impeller blades
