Case Study: Marine Propeller Shafts

Our client is Europe’s largest marine propeller and stern gear designer/manufacturer, supplying superyachts, commercial, leisure and merchant vessels. With propellers being the most harshly stressed part of any boat, the propeller shaft needs to be equally robust. We have been supplying precision-ground shafts now for over 10 years, to various bespoke lengths and diameters. The main grade used in the shafts is Duplex F51, due to its good corrosion and stress resistance properties.
