Specialist engineering steel

Stainless Steel for Engineering

Stainless steel is used in a myriad of engineering applications as a specialist material, due to its tremendous strength even at high temperatures, its corrosion resistance, flexibility and formability.

It is however not one material type as there are many different grades, all with their own characteristics and advantages.

We work with a range of industries spanning hydraulics, compressors, fasteners, gears, valves, pumps, bearings, strain gauges and other measuring equipment, food processing, and medical & surgical equipment.

Engineering Grades

The grades stocked include the major austeniticmartensitic and precipitation hardening grades in the annealed, quench and tempered and precipitation ‘aged’ conditions.

What we have found with our many years in the industry is that it is often in engineering that customers need the expert help of our metallurgist to select the right grade for their specific application. We are more than happy to discuss and help.

Being both a stockholder and processor, we can supply our customers with exactly what they require even on tight deadlines.  If a stock item is suitable, we can ship immediately. If processing is required (cutting, grinding, straightening, polishing), we do this speedily in-house, without having to outsource.  This also gives us complete control over quality, evidenced by our ISO9001:2015 accreditation.
