- Greater strength & good wear resistance
- Moderate corrosion resistance (lower than 440B due to higher carbon content)
- Easily machined in the annealed condition (similar to high speed steel)
- Once hardened, machining becomes more difficult
- Thermal conductivity
- Poor weldability
- Highly magnetic
- Ball & roller bearings

- High quality knife blades
